Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Jackson is a residential and acute treatment facility providing care to adolescents. Located in Jackson, TN. We are seeking a passionate Human Resources Manager to join our professional team!
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of various human resources functions, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and policy development within the hospital. This role requires a high level of initiative, judgment, and discretion. Reporting directly to the CEO and VP of HR, the HR Manager is accountable for all HR-related actions, functions, and record-keeping at the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, and oversees all activities of the Human Resources department; participates in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
• Supervises and directs the activities of the Human Resources Generalist.
• Interfaces with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Maintains an organized and efficient filing system for HR documents and correspondence.
• Promotes a positive work environment by communicating and behaving in a manner that fosters cooperation and teamwork with coworkers, supervisors, patients, and visitors.
• Analyzes a updates the compensation program; revises job descriptions as needed; conducts annual salary surveys; develops the merit pool (salary budget); and monitors and adjusts the performance evaluation program.
• Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; proposes revisions as needed; administers employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plans, life insurance, HSA accounts, paid time off, sick leave, and employee assistance programs.
• Collaborates with the Regional Recruiter to direct recruitment efforts for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary staff; writes and posts job advertisements; assists managers with screening and interviewing; conducts background and reference checks; extends job offers; facilitates new hire orientations and exit interviews.
• Coordinates and participates in the orientation for new employees.
• Provides guidance and coaching to department managers and leads on employee relations issues.
• Conducts internal investigations related to employee matters and prepares documentation as required.
• Manages contracts with outside agencies providing employee services, such as staffing firms and relocation services.
• Coordinates or delivers training on hiring, interviewing, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, HIPAA compliance, and harassment prevention.
• Oversees the tracking of employee health records, including TB tests, Hepatitis A and B, flu vaccines, physicals, CPR certifications, Handle With Care training, and random drug screenings.
• Administers and monitors workers’ compensation and FMLA for all employees.
• Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by state regulations and accrediting agencies such as TJC and CARF.
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
You would be a great match for the Human Resources Manager if you have the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field and two years of human resource leadership experience.
• Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
• HRCI or SHRM certification are preferred.
• Considerable knowledge of various functions of human resources and current methods, practices and procedures used in the field.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the other department managers, employees, and clients.
• Ability to perform detail-oriented work including preparation of legal documents, reports to regulating agencies, general accounting and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the public, employees, and clients.
Scheduling:
Work hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and rotate on a weekly Administrator on Call schedule. May work weekends and evenings to provide communication or assist in crisis situations. Must be able to flex schedule at times to meet business needs.
