We currently seeking for an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs) for our behavioral health hospital in Garland, TX.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). In this role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to support the recovery and well-being of individuals struggling with mental health or behavioral challenges.
- Role and Responsibilities:
- Document patient information and patient care.
- Take and record vital signs and reports abnormalities to the Charge Nurse.
- Utilize sound judgment and observe and document any changes in a patient’s appearance or behavior and communicate this to the Charge Nurse.
- Employ principles of communication, interviewing techniques, problem solving and crisis intervention when performing interventions.
- Provides appropriate intervention related to patient’s concerns.
- Identifies patients at risk and implements procedures to monitor and reduce at risk factors.
- Teach and assist the patient proper hygiene and ensure adherence to hygiene methods.
- Carry out teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
- Model and teach appropriate social skills.
- Monitor unit activity and encourages patient participation.
- Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
- Supervise and assist patients.
Education/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas License Certified Nurse Assistant required.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred.
- Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Handle with Care Training within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
