Account Manager/Business Development
JOB SUMMARY: The Account Manager is responsible for managing and creating strategic initiatives to maximize admissions and build, grow and maintain an acceptable facility census level. Responsible for developing and maintaining community relationships with current and future referral sources. The Account Manager is responsible for the development of the facilities census through direct referral source interaction. Key objectives are to inform, educate and communicate programs and services to Acute Behavioral Hospitals, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Professionals, Outpatient Centers, Human Service Agencies, Sister Facilities of Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas, and other referral sources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily. Essential functions can include any of the following tasks, overall knowledge, skills, and/ or ability noted. 1. Responsible for marketing the hospital services through daily contacts, building and maintaining accounts, developing and managing records of contacts and account activity, developing and implementing detailed marketing plans, working constructively with the assessment and referral and marketing teams.
2. Maintains referral source database to record daily, weekly and monthly interactions with providers. Must understand how to generate reports from the system to compare trends for specific time periods.
3. Obtains appropriate information on market area and competitors including
rates, census information, program information, social media and sales strategies.
4. Responsible for setting up educational and networking events for professionals and patients.
5. Acts as liaison between the company and the community to generate a positive image and encourage referral activities
6. Notifies administration of problems or significant events when shared by referral sources and be able to help resolve any communication or service issues.
7. Demonstrates principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services which yields in positive results. Be able to spot trends and act upon them, stay up to date with the news, research, and any other information that directly affects our product or services.
8. Knowledge of relevant mental health needs and modalities of treatment. Able to work autonomously and as a team to serve our clients and patients.
9. Must complete weekly and monthly statistical reporting, develop facility specific business plans
that will help maintain and grow the facility’s census and understand budget goals and performance.
Non-Essential job functions
1. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational and project management skills are helpful.
2. Sufficient computer proficiency-word processing, presentation and email software applications.
3. Should also be able to prioritize projects with little supervision and meet tight deadlines.
4. Knowledge of managed healthcare environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field; Experience working in Behavioral Health is preferred
2. Four (2-4) years’ experience with sales and networking with healthcare referral sources.
3. Experience developing marketing strategies and programs including referral development, intake, tracking advertising and public relations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver’s License within the state of residence required with appropriate endorsements
