Lead Maintenance Technician - Behavioral Hospital

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington has a great opportunity for a full-time experienced Lead Maintenance Technician.
Role Overview
The Lead Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Director of Environment of Care, is responsible for ensuring the facility is safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Lead Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of Maintenance tasks, supervise team members, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of Maintenance Technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion.
- Perform and oversee general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program; including routine inspections and servicing equipment.
- Ensure tasks such as changing air filters, maintaining kitchen grease traps, and inspecting safety systems are completed on schedule.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with infection control measures, OSHA regulations, and hospital safety protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety within the team, conducting regular safety briefings and training.
- Maintain the facility and ground in a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing condition.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of emergency systems and essential utilities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory management.
- Report on maintenance performance, safety issues, and project progress to the Director.
- Work closely with the Director of Environment of Care and other departments to address maintenance needs and support facility operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within maintenance operations and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualified candidates for Lead Maintenance Technician should possess the following:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in a healthcare setting or similar environment, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs preferred.
Licensure: Relevant certifications in maintenance or building trades preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of hospital orientation, and training in BLS and Handle with Care. Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation upon hire.
