Position Summary
The House Supervisor RN plays a key leadership role in ensuring safe, effective, and high‑quality patient care across assigned units.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients’ families, and nursing staff
- Coordinate and supervise services on assigned units to promote a positive and supportive patient care environment
- Conduct regular rounds on nursing units, including follow‑up with licensed and non‑licensed staff, monitoring acutely ill patients, and welcoming new admissions
- Foster a team‑oriented atmosphere that enhances quality of care and the patient experience
- Support and guide nursing staff with assessments, care planning, prioritization of tasks, and education, particularly when patients experience changes in condition
- Ensure appropriate supplies and medications are available at all times
- Facilitate communication among nursing staff, providers, responsible parties, and external vendors to ensure timely and appropriate patient care
- Respond to emergencies and ensure proper procedures are followed
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage across all assigned units
Qualified candidates for House Supervisor RN should have the following:
- Active Registered Nurse license in Texas (or eligible compact license)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Inpatient behavioral hospital experience strongly preferred
- Management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation and departmental training
- Weekends: Saturday & Sunday
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift: 6:45am - 7:15pm
