About Perimeter Behavioral Health
The Quality/Infection Control Nurse responsibilities include the following:
- Chairs the Quality Council for the Hospital and maintains the minutes for the facility.
- Works with each department head to ensure regulatory compliance is occurring within their prescribed scope of responsibilities.
- Coordinates Life/Safety surveys and regulatory visits to the facility.
- Audits patient records to ensure compliance.
- Chairs performance improvement committees.
- Prepare quality plans for the facility.
- Conducts routine audits and reports as required.
- Educates new hires and existing staff on quality improvement measures and on infection control.
- Tracks and reports communicable infections in patients and employees.
- Completes periodic inspections to ensure procedures for control of infections are being administered properly.
- Collects and maintains statistical data of value in the identification and control of infections.
- Prepare monthly reports to the Infection Control Committee.
- Report unusual clusters or outbreaks of infection to the committee and conducts investigations as appropriate.
- Help to spread infection within the facility
- Monitor employee illness and report number and type to the infection control committee.
Qualified candidates for Quality/Infection Control Nurse should have the following:
- Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or has eligible compact license
- Prefer having a bachelor’s degree in Nursing with at least 2 years nursing experience preferably in infection control or quality improvement.
- Knowledgeable of regulatory requirements for psychiatric acute hospitals and infection control
- Excellent communication skills orally and in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
