Perimeter Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the daily operations of our residential child and adolescent behavioral health facility in Jackson, Tennessee. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, supporting employees, and promoting a positive workplace culture while delivering high-quality HR services.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the facility’s Human Resources Department in accordance with company policies, accreditation standards, and all applicable state and federal laws. This position supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration, and serves as a key resource for employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Support the daily operations of the Human Resources Department
Coordinate and manage recruitment activities including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring
Ensure proper onboarding of all new hires, including background checks, state clearances, and HRIS setup
Maintain accurate personnel, medical, and education files in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
Enter employee status changes and personnel actions into the HRIS and submit information to payroll
Assist employees with HR-related questions, concerns, grievances, and requests
Support leave of absence requests, ADA accommodations, pregnancy accommodations, and workers’ compensation processes
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
Assist with employee orientation and training documentation
Promote positive employee relations and assist with employee engagement initiatives
Support the HR Manager and provide coverage in their absence as needed
Participate in community involvement and professional committees as applicable
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (required)
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in healthcare or behavioral health
Experience with HRIS systems (UKG preferred)
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a residential child and adolescent behavioral health setting
May be exposed to challenging behaviors and emotionally demanding situations
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to manage stress, remain flexible, and exercise sound judgment in potentially volatile situations
