We are seeking a full-time A&R (Intake) Mental Health Technician to join our Admissions & Referral team. In this critical role, you will be one of the first people our patients encounter, helping create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment during the admission process. What You'll Do

As an A&R (Intake) Mental Health Technician, you will support patients throughout the admission process while ensuring safety, comfort, and compliance with hospital procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient admissions and intake procedures
  • Conduct patient and belongings searches for safety and contraband prevention
  • Inventory and document patient belongings upon admission
  • Observe, assess, and document patient behaviors and interactions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation throughout assigned shifts
  • Support patients with daily living activities and orientation to the unit
  • Model positive behaviors and teach life skills that promote healthy decision-making
  • Identify patients who may be at risk and implement appropriate monitoring procedures
  • Foster and maintain professional therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, structured, and therapeutic environment
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and physical intervention methods when necessary (training provided)
  • Escort and supervise patients as required throughout the facility

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Physical ability to bend, lift, stoop, walk, and assist with patient interventions as needed
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain during new employee orientation
  • De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC) certification (obtained during new employee orientation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in behavioral health, healthcare, social services, direct care, or a related field
  • Coursework or experience in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Nursing, Criminal Justice, or Behavioral Health
  • Experience working with adolescents or individuals experiencing mental health challenges

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
