We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Licensed Program Therapist to become part of our dynamic and mission-driven team at Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas. Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas, Texas is conveniently located in Garland, Texas, and features a beautiful facility staffed by a dedicated team of professionals. We proudly provide quality behavioral and mental health care services to children and adolescents throughout the surrounding communities.
In this role, you will work alongside a collaborative group of professionals committed to delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare services in a structured forensic treatment environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing within a supportive and professional setting.
Standards of Performance:
- Provides direct-care services to patients including individual, group and family sessions. Serves as a primary therapist to assign patients and their families.
- Interviews patients and family members to develop a complete psychosocial assessment. Obtains information about patient history, health and level of functioning.
- Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans and updates.
- Works with patients and families to prepare solid aftercare plans, including referrals to community agencies and other professionals as needed.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of services provided and ensure documentation in the patient charts in a timely manner.
- Ensures program functions within requirements established by the Joint Commission and other state and federal agencies.
- Remains knowledgeable of current trends related to behavioral healthcare by participating in professional organizations, reviewing current literature and communicating with representatives of other facilities.
- Responsible for supporting a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment by understanding and complying with organization policies.

- Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
- Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
- Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Education: Master’s degree in social work, Counseling or related mental health field is required from an accredited school.
- Licensure: LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPC-Intern, LMFT, LMFT-A (Valid, Unrestricted License through State of Texas)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in psychiatric health care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills; Trauma Informed Care or Substance Abuse Experience preferred.
- Current CPR and HWC certification are preferred within 1 week of employment.
- Additional Requirements: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload; Ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing preferred.
