Role Overview
The Director of Assessment & Referral is responsible for overall system telephonic and in-person risk assessments (all locations – including MATs), ensuring appropriate levels of care with a preliminary diagnosis, facilitating the initial treatment plan with family, and implements crisis intervention techniques. In addition, the Director of Assessment & Referral ensures rapid facilitation of admissions and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff in order to have a consistent and efficient admission process. Reporting duties include updating and distributing daily dashboard, MAT Schedule, midnight census and call-logs.

Your Impact
As the Director of Assessment & Referral (A&R) on our team, you'll:
- Direct and manage the daily operations of the A&R department
- Oversee the Admission process in its entirety of individuals after initial assessment
- Lead, coach, and develop department staff, including scheduling, performance management, and training
- Ensure 24/7 coverage for A&R services and appropriate staffing levels
- Orient patients and families to the treatment program.
- Provide information about the patient to the program staff who will be receiving the patient.
- Daily reconcile and distribution of dashboard.
- Daily reconcile and completion of pre-certs within 24 hours of every admission.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call response time, conversion rates, and admission volumes
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute census growth strategies
- Ensure all patient assessments are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with clinical standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including hospitals, physicians, and community partners
- Ensure exceptional service to patients, families, and referral sources throughout the intake process
- Address and resolve escalated concerns related to A&R
- Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information
- Education: Master's degree with a clinical license required
- Licensure: LMSW or LCSW or LPC or LPC-Associate
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years' working experience in an Admissions department, Inpatient experience preferred.
- Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
