The Director of Environment of Care's responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensures that all systems that relate to life and safety/EOC are maintained and inspected according federal, state and local requirements and that National Patient Safety Goals are implemented and monitored.
  • Ensures that toxic and biohazard materials are handled and disposed of in keeping with Federal and State regulations.
  • Coordinates with any contractor performing work relating to the supervised departments.
  • Provides daily maintenance supervision of the hospital facility including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and coordinate general maintenance of the building inside and out.
  • Provides supervision of landscape and lawn services including grass mowing, weeding, planting and any necessary grounds clean up or repair.
  • Supervises maintenance of all parking lots for the safety of patients and staff.
  • Review all maintenance agreements for appropriateness and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensures that all functions within Plant Operations, and Housekeeping follow the safety procedures outlined in the company policies.
  • Administers evaluations of employees within established time constraints for Maintenance, and Housekeeping.
  • Maintains operation within budget guidelines.
  • Performs in-services required by the company and participate in hospital-wide performance improvement (PI) activities and in required in-service education.
  • Performs a variety of tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, test and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventative maintenance and various janitorial duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates for Director of Environment of Care should have the following:

  • Post-secondary degree required.
  • Experience in general repair, framing, sheetrock, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
  • 10+ years of management experience is required.
  • Experience with fire codes and OSHA.
  • Excellent communication.

Scheduling:

  • Full-Time - Work hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • On-call rotated schedule
